Leasing options

Our program offers in barn partial leasing options for our lesson horses. Leases are based upon the availability and suitability of the horse to the rider. We will try to take into account if you wish to lease a certain horse. However, if the horse you would like to lease is not suitable for your riding level, we will suggest another option. Leasing consists of 1-3 lessons per week and a hack day. Hack days are optional, and based on your riding level, leases can be done without a hack day as well. Leasing allows you the ability to lesson on the same horse each time, as well as showing options with your leased horse. LOF reserves the right to still use any horse that is leased for the lesson program outside of your lesson time and hack day.

Pete

Peking, barn name Pete, is a 2013 16.2HH seal bay Holsteiner gelding who joined our program in November 2024. Pete has a lengthy show record up to the 2'6 division and has quickly become a barn favorite since he came to us. Pete will take you to shows and help you grow in your riding career.

Chompers

JNS Suited to Win barn name Chompers is a 2015 14.3 HH registered POA (Pony of the Americas) champagne colored gelding. Chompers has shown in lots of shows up to the 2'6 division and would be a great leasing option for someone who wants to compete.

Holly

Hollywood Starlet, barn name Holly, is a 2005 16HH Canadian sport horse mare. Holly is the perfect horse to start your showing career on. She will take you from poles up to the 2' division. Holly is well known for her dependability and talent for building strong, confident riders both on the flat and over fences.

Piccolo

Piccolo is a 15.1 HH POA (Ponies of the Americas) gelding who is in his late 20s and is a huge part of our lesson program. Piccolo came to us from the kill pen and quickly made a name for himself with his adorable spots and willingness to say anything in front of him. While Piccolo does not show, he is a great option for someone who is interested in learning the basics but would like to ride the same horse each lesson. Piccolo will take you from learning the basics to pole courses to jumping cross rails.

Phoenix

Phoenix is a 2001 15.2 HH chestnut quarter horse gelding who was a western-trained horse until 5 years ago, when he started his career in the English world. Phoenix is another one of our lesson program staples; however, he does not show. He is another great option for a beginner who's looking to learn the basics or start jumping cross rails. Phoenix will take you from pole courses to cross rails, and will make a great partner for anyone!

Jack

Jack is a 2010 14.1 HH flea bitten appaloosa/quarter horse cross. Jack is our newest addition to LOF, he was primarily ridden western, but has done lots of English work, including jumping. Jack is going to be a fan favorite around the barn and will be a great partner in helping build strong and confident riders, starting with pole courses up to jumping.
